Hikari Utsuri koi are classified  as metalic utsuri.  Kin Ki Utsuri, Kin Showa, Gin Shiro Utsuri, and others make up this classification. These koi are very difficult to produce en masse. The best of these are typically seen as two year old fish or older.  Koi Food makes the difference in the growth if these fish and they should be fed a high protein and fat diet to help them compete with the more aggressive koi in the koi pond.
